After securing an impressive seventh position last season, the first half of the season has been a forgettable one for Vasco Seabra’s men, who have picked up just 11 points from their 15 games and are bottom of the table, two points from safety.
Arouca’s less-than-impressive form was attributed to a lack of firepower up front, where they scored the league’s lowest nine goals, while conceding the most goals at the other end of the pitch (26).

Although Gil Vicente will try hard to end their Arouca curse, their away results do not provide much optimism as they have managed just one win from their last 10 away games in the league, losing six and drawing three since the start of May.
Arouca will have to do without 34-year-old midfielder David Simao, who is currently suspended after crossing the yellow card threshold due to his yellow card against Casa Pia last time out.
Regarding injuries, Arouquenses still has to play without the midfielder trio of Pedro Moreira, Oriol Busquets and 24-year-old Vitinho, who is still sidelined.
Kouassi Eboue is yet to feature this season due to a serious muscle problem, while Nino Galovic has been out of action since sustaining a knee injury against Moreirense on August 18.
