Recently, news circulated that Trent Alexander-Arnold (TAA) had agreed to join Real Madrid for free. This news was reported by Marca.
However, this news was immediately denied by Liverpool, which was shared by football transfer experts Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein.
“Liverpool have clearly told Real Madrid that Trent Alexander-Arnold will NOT be sold in January. Real Madrid continues to work to reach an agreement for FREE in July.” Fabrizio Romano said
Almost in line with Fabrizio, David Ornstein also said that Liverpool had no intention of selling their flagship right-back, and was trying to persuade the player to stay.
“Liverpool have REJECTED an approach from Real Madrid who wanted to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold in January. Liverpool plans to speak again with Trent.” David Ornstein wrote.
As is known, the TAA contract will be completed in mid-2025 and contract discussions with TAA are taking place a lot. So it's not surprising if there are rumors circulating about TAA going to another club.
Moreover, this January the winter transfer has opened and other clubs could make an offer to Liverpool for Arnold.
