QPR’s impressive home form has helped ease their relegation fears, with the R’s currently six points above the bottom three in 16th place in the Championship table.
The R’s will look to widen that gap in Monday’s match, as they look to complete a league double over Luton after recording a narrow 2-1 win in their previous outing in August.
Luton are battling to avoid back-to-back relegations, with the Hatters currently in 20th place and just two points above the relegation zone.
Rob Edwards’ side will be short on confidence after losing four of their previous five games, including defeats in each of their last three.
The Hatters ended 2024 with successive away defeats against Bristol City and Swansea, before they narrowly lost 1-0 in the New Year’s game against Norwich.
Marcelino Nunez scored the decisive goal in the 73rd minute to end Luton’s six-game home unbeaten run.
Having suffered a first home defeat since October, the Hatters are now focused on Monday’s trip to Loftus Road, with the visitors looking to end a run of nine consecutive away defeats since beating Milwall in September.
Luton have lost four of their last five away league games against QPR, although they won 3-0 in their last league trip to Loftus Road in December 2022.
The hosts are still unable to call up the injured quartet, namely Steve Cook, Liam Morrison, Zan Celar and Karamoko Dembele.
QPR may also be without midfielder Lucas Andersen, who missed the win over Watford after picking up an injury in the draw with Norwich at the end of December.
However, defender Ronnie Edwards could be in the matchday squad after arriving on loan from Southampton on New Year’s Day.
As for the visiting team, they are expected to be without Teden Mengi, Reece Burke, Alfie Doughty, Shandon Baptiste and Tom Lockyer.
Jordan Clark had to be checked after being forced off the field after 12 minutes in Wednesday’s home defeat against Norwich.
Full-back Joe Johnson and midfielder Liam Walsh are set to travel to Loftus Road, after serving one-match and four-match bans respectively.
