DomainJava.com – Wolverhampton vs Nottingham prediction in the Premier League match, The return of former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Nuno Espirito Santo to Molineux is an emotional moment, which will take the Nottingham Forest team to the West Midlands for Monday's Premier League match.

The Tricky Trees remain on track to qualify for the Champions League after beating Everton last time out, while their hosts will have to fight hard to salvage a point away to Tottenham Hotspur.

Best known for masterminding Wolves' run from the Championship to the Europa League, Santo repeated his Old Gold tricks at the City Ground and has submitted his nomination for the Premier League Manager of the Year award half way through the season.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City have only managed one goal against Everton this season, but Forest outscored all three of the ‘Big Six' giants during their trip to Goodison Park on December 29, as Chris Wood and Morgan Gibbs-White saw off the Toffees with a win 2-0.

An unbelievable fifth top-flight win in a row saw Forest celebrate New Year's Eve in third place in the Premier League table, and whatever happens over the weekend, they will remain in their Champions League spot when play kicks off on Monday.

Blessed with a formidable backline on par with Wood's inspired attacking line, Forest have also managed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last three Premier League games and are now aiming to win six games in a row in the competition for the first time since it changed its name in in 1992.

Dating back to the 1966–67 season, Garibaldi had not won six consecutive major league games, but their penchant for fast starts showed that the record was there to be broken; Forest have scored the first goal in 15 of their 19 Premier League games this season, more than any other team.

Ahead of Santo's reunion with his former team on Monday, Wolves coincidentally come up against another of the Portuguese's former employers in their final game of 2024, with Vitor Pereira's unbeaten start continuing at home to Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham Hotspur.

Rodrigo Bentancur and Brennan Johnson looked to have completed Spurs' turnaround after Hwang Hee-chan's early goal, but Jorgen Strand Larsen equalized in the 87th minute and ensured Wolves entered 2025 outside the bottom three.

Despite their improved results amid the rise of a classic new manager, Wolves will return to a humiliating 18th position on Monday night if Ipswich Town win against Fulham; Aston Villa did them a favor on Saturday by beating Leicester City.

However, Pereira has achieved a feat for Wolves that none of his predecessors have achieved since 1977 – going unbeaten in his first three top-flight games in charge – and since April, Monday's hosts have never failed to score in a competitive home game, scoring several goals in four of their last five games at Molineux.

Furthermore, Wolves have lost none of their previous five Premier League games against Nottingham Forest, although the last four head-to-head games have ended in draws, including a 1-1 draw at the City Ground in August where Jean-Ricner Bellegarde's goal stole one points for Old Gold.

Forest's outstanding form this season can partly be attributed to a quiet treatment room, as long-term absentees Danilo (ankle) and Ibrahim Sangare (hamstring) are the only players confirmed to be absent for the game against Wolves.

Santo will hope to have at least three more boosts for Monday's trip to Molineux, as Murillo (groin) and Callum Hudson-Odoi (impact) are expected to recover from the problems that kept them out last time out, while Ryan Yates returns from suspension.

Taking his Premier League goal tally to 11 for the last season, Wood is now on the verge of breaking Forest's unique record; another goal would make him the club's top scorer in the competition under one manager, surpassing Stan Collymore's 22 under Frank Clark.

While Forest can rely on their main attacking threat, the same cannot be said for Wolves, who have lost the influential Matheus Cunha to a two-match ban after the Brazilian admitted an FA misconduct charge over an incident against Ipswich Town last month.

Cunha joins a number of injured players on the bench, including Sasa Kalajdzic (knee), Enso Gonzalez (knee), Yerson Mosquera (knee), Boubacar Traore (knee), Pablo Sarabia (calf) and Toti Gomes (hamstring), while Mario Lemina is suffering from a “minor injury” but has been heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.

Central midfielder Andre is also in critical condition after sustaining an injury in a tense game against Tottenham, so Tommy Doyle should be on call, and Cunha's absence will no doubt trigger the return of Larsen who has scored seven goals in his first 11 starts.
