In the post commented on by STY, Nova Arianto expressed his gratitude to Shin Tae-yong’s coaching team, most of whom are from South Korea.

“Thank you Head Coach and Coaches for all the learning so far, of course there are many stories there, sometimes happy, sad and angry, but of course all Coaches will always be remembered for what they have done for Indonesian football,” wrote Nova.

Previously, Nova Arianto expressed his gratitude to Shin and the other coaches, most of whom came from South Korea.

Nova stated that despite the many ups, downs and challenges, he will always remember what the coaching team has done for Indonesian football.

PSSI has confirmed the termination of Shin Tae-yong’s contract as coach of the Indonesian National Team, which was announced by the General Chair of PSSI, Erick Thohir.

The collaboration, which began at the end of 2019, officially ended after PSSI submitted contract termination documents to Shin.

During his coaching period, Shin Tae-yong recorded several important achievements, such as bringing the Indonesian national team to the knockout rounds of the Asian Cup for the first time and leading the U-23 national team to the semifinals of the Asian Cup.

However, Shin’s journey in the AFF Cup was not always smooth, with Indonesia only becoming runner-up in the 2020 edition and stopping in the semifinals in 2022.

In the 2024 AFF Cup, the Indonesian National Team’s performance dropped drastically, which ultimately worsened Shin’s record.

PSSI’s decision to end Shin Tae-yong’s coaching period marks the end of the South Korean coach’s coaching era, even though his contribution has left an important mark in the history of Indonesian football.
