KITAINDONESIASA.COM – The dismissal of the Indonesian National Team coach, Shin Tae-Yong (STY), apparently received a reaction from Garuda Squad supporters in the area, as happened in Blitar City, Thursday (9/1/2025).
As a result, the Blitar City office of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) became the target of vandalism from Garuda Squad supporters who were disappointed with STY’s dismissal.
As can be seen, the windows and doors of the PSSI Blitar Branch office are plastered with posters bearing insults to the PSSI General Chair, Erick Thohir and the Exco.
Meanwhile, regarding the terror, Blitar City PSSI Chairman Yudi Meira suspects that the action was carried out by Garuda Squad supporters who still want STY to be retained as coach of the Indonesian National Team.
According to Yudi Meira, aspirations like this are normal, but regarding STY’s dismissal, he admitted that he did not know about the problem and it was the Central PSSI who decided.
“We realize that the terror of vadalism is a normal thing, this is a form or way for supporters to convey their aspirations,” Yudi told reporters in Blitar.
Yudi himself emphasized that if STY’s dismissal from the Indonesian National Team had nothing to do with PSSI Blitar, it would be better for supporters to ask directly to the central PSS who knows about this problem.
Yudi explained that if someone conveys their aspirations to PSSI Blitar, they will convey them to PSSI East Java.
So far PSS Blitar has not felt disturbed by this act of terror vandalism, because no losses were incurred as a result of this action, which disappointed the supporters.
Until now it is not known who carried out the terror act of vandalism at the Blitar City PSSI office, but it is strongly suspected that this action was carried out by National Team supporters who were disappointed with STY’s dismissal by PSSI. **
