PSSI officially announced Patrick Kluivert as the new coach of the Indonesian National Team. The former Barcelona and AC Milan player is expected to bring big changes to the national team.
Patrick Kluivert, former Dutch national team player, has experience as a coach. He has coached the Dutch U-21 national team and was an assistant coach at FC Twente.
While coaching and as a player he did have a track record that could be said to be quite good.
However, his coaching record is not as impressive as when he was a player. This is different from Shin Tae-yong, who has proven to have quite good qualities when coaching the South Korean national team.
Not only is there a comparison of training, but there is also a comparison of salary.
PSSI has never given an official statement regarding the salary received by Kluivert. PSSI only confirmed that the 48-year-old coach had received a two-year contract and a two-year extension option.

However, according to Antara’s report, the salary Kluivert will receive is in the range of IDR 1.3 to IDR 1.5 billion per month. This means that in his two-year contract as a coach, Kluivert will earn IDR 36 billion.
Still based on the same report, Shin Tae-yong received a salary of IDR 1.9 billion per month on his new contract as coach of the Indonesian National Team. The man from South Korea receives a salary of IDR 23.6 billion per year.
Shin Tae-yong received a contract with a fairly high value because of his achievements in the period 2020 to 2024. Even though he failed to produce a trophy, he is considered to have brought the Garuda squad to a higher level.
So can Kluivert still match or even exceed the Shi Tae-yong era?
