DomainJava .COM – Distressing, hoping to win, Chelsea actually suffered defeat in the away match against Ipswich Town at Portman Road, Tuesday (31/12/2024) early morning WIB.
The club nicknamed The Blues lost 0-2 through goals from Liam Delap and Omari Hutchinson, which gave the home team victory.
Enzo Maresca’s team fell behind in the 12th minute due to a penalty which was perfectly executed by Liam Delap.
Ipswich, who appeared solid, increased their lead in the second half, after Hutchinson scored with a measured shot that beat Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen.
Despite dominating possession of the ball, Chelsea had difficulty penetrating Ipswich’s sturdy defense. The home team maintained their lead and ensured the full three points.
This result left Chelsea stuck in fourth position with 35 points from 19 matches, while Ipswich moved up one place to 18th position with 15 points.
In the next match, Chelsea will visit Leicester City’s headquarters on January 4 2025.
