DomainJava .COM – PSSI General Chair, Erick Thohir, revealed the reason why the National Team Assistant Coach, Alex Pastoor, had not yet arrived in Indonesia with Coach Patrick Kluivert who had arrived earlier on Saturday, January 11 2025.
Erick explained that Alex would only arrive in February because the process of signing his contract was carried out after Patrick Kluivert.
“Alex Pastoor will come in February because he signed yesterday after Coach Patrick,” said PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir on Monday (13/1/2025).

Apart from that, Erick stated that PSSI plans to recruit three new staff for the Indonesian National Team, namely a physical trainer, goalkeeper trainer and video analyst.
Erick made this statement after accompanying Patrick Kluivert in a meeting with the Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito Ariotedjo.

Alex Pastoor, born in Amsterdam on 26 October 1966, is an experienced football coach with a long career in European clubs.
He started his coaching career in 2001 with the AZ Alkmaar U-19 team, before coaching the AFC’34 senior team.
Pastoor is known for successfully bringing several promoted teams to the Eredivisie, such as Excelsior in 2010-2011 and Sparta Rotterdam in 2015-2016.
Apart from the Netherlands, Pastoor also has international experience coaching clubs such as Slavia Prague, SCR Altach and Almere City.
One of his other big achievements was bringing Almere City promotion to the Eredivisie for the first time in the 2022/23 season. This track record strengthens his reputation as a coach who is able to improve team performance at a higher level.
