DomainJava .COM – The management of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat (PT PBB) has officially decided to end cooperation with their foreign player, Mailson Lima, in the 2024–2025 Indonesian League 1 mid-season transfer window.
This player from Cape Verde was released to Sriwijaya FC, a club that competes in League 2.
The mid-season transfer window was used by Persib management together with coach Bojan Hodak to carry out a comprehensive evaluation of the team’s performance, including the performance of players such as Mark Klok and others.
Adhitia Putera Herawan, Sporting Director of PT PBB, stated that Mailson Lima will not continue this season with Persib after the official transfer process is completed.

Persib Bandung coach, Bojan Hodak, decided to no longer use Mailson Lima’s services after his performance was deemed unsatisfactory for half the season.
Sporting Director of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat (PBB), Adhitia Putra Herawan, stated that management was evaluating the list of foreign players proposed by Bojan.
According to Adhit, the list of potential players who will be brought in includes names from various regions, from Brazil, Europe to Asia.
“There are those who are playing in Indonesia, there are those who have played, there are those who have never played in Indonesia. “We are still talking with Bojan, with the coaching team, what is the most appropriate one,” said Adhit in Bandung, Friday (3/1/2025).
One of the names widely mentioned as a replacement for Mailson is Matheus Pato, a former Borneo FC player and top scorer in Liga 1 2022/2023.
The striker, who has just completed his contract with Shandong Taishan, a Chinese Super League club, is known to be on Bojan Hodak’s radar. However, Bojan emphasized that he would be careful before making a final decision.
“Matheus Pato, we had several conversations with his agent, but we agreed to try evaluating it first,” he said.
“Matheus Pato has communication with (Persib) management,” he said.
