DomainJava .COM – PSSI officially announced the dismissal of Shin Tae-yong as coach of the Indonesian national team on Monday, January 6 2025. Son Shin Tae-yong’s comments in PSSI’s social media comments column are currently in the spotlight.
Shin Tae-yong’s son, Shin Jae-won, made comments that seemed to question and not accept PSSI’s decision after firing his father.
Through an Instagram account called shin_jaewon77, he made a comment in English which revealed that his father had provided considerable services to footballers in Indonesia, but was fired.
He looked very confused by PSSI’s decision and commented that PSSI would regret this decision.
“??? “He has brought Indonesia to this stage and this is how you treat him, good job PSSI, you will regret your decision,” said Shin Jae-won.
He also said that his father was the one who had fought to make football in Indonesia more advanced.
“Let’s see how you guys will go further without him. “He has given everything to put Indonesia at this stage,” continued Shin Jae-won.
Jae-won also seems to know something happened to his father, but he is reluctant to say more.
“I have a lot to say about how PSSI treated my father for 5 years but I will remain silent,” he continued.
Then not only that, Shin Jae-won also made an insta story which was quite sharp and satirized PSSI.

As previously stated, the decision to dismiss STY was taken after evaluating the performance of the national team, especially after the poor results in the 2024 AFF Cup.
According to the General Chair of PSSI, Erick Thohir, this decision was taken for the good of the national team.
“What we are doing today is for the good of the national team,” said Erick Thohir.
STY has also received a letter of dismissal which was given by the Manager of the Indonesian National Team, Sumardji.
“Mr Mardji met Coach STY this morning and Coach STY has received his correspondence,” said Erick Thohir.
On this occasion, Erick also expressed his gratitude for the services and achievements provided by the coach from South Korea.
“Later there will be another process regarding our relationship which has ended, I thank you once again,” he said
