DomainJava .COM – Patrick Kluivert has officially been appointed as the new coach of the Indonesian National Team, replacing Shin Tae-Yong, with a two-year contract and an extension option.
This appointment was announced by PSSI via their official website on Wednesday (8/1/2025) and was followed by a video upload on PSSI’s official Instagram account welcoming the arrival of the Dutch coach.
So when will Patrick Kluivert officially coach the Indonesian National Team?
Patrick Kluivert is scheduled to arrive in Indonesia on Saturday, January 11 2025, and will be officially introduced to the public through a press conference on Sunday, January 12 2025.
This was confirmed by PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir.

Kluivert’s debut as coach of the Indonesian National Team will take place in the match against Australia at the Sydney Football Stadium, March 20 2025, in the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification Group C Asia Zone.
He will be accompanied by two assistant coaches from the Netherlands, Alex Pastoor and Denny Landzaat, as well as two local coaches who will be appointed by PSSI.
Patrick Kluivert’s Classy Career
Kluivert’s coaching career began at FC Twente U21 (2011–2013).
However, his work as a senior team coach has not been as bright as his career as a player. Statistics show that from a total of 34 matches as a club and national team coach, he recorded 12 wins, 10 draws and 12 losses, with a winning percentage of 35.29 percent.

Curacao National Team, 8 matches (3 wins, 2 draws, 3 losses)

One of his achievements was bringing the Curacao National Team to the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifications in the CONCACAF zone, even though he has not succeeded in presenting a trophy throughout his coaching career.
